NFL Coach Suggests Bears Made A Potential Mistake With Caleb Williams

The 1-2 Chicago Bears are going through a rough patch to start the season as the No. 1 pick in this year's draft goes through growing pains.

Caleb Williams has been outplayed by the No. 2 pick in the draft, Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels lit up the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday night, completing 91% of his pass attempts in the Commanders' 38-33 win.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, Daniels' performance caught the attention of a current NFL defensive coordinator, who asked the beat reporter whether the Bears made a mistake in the draft.

Biggs was initially asked by a fan if they picked the wrong quarterback.

"I won’t say that and it’s far too premature to jump down this rabbit hole," Biggs wrote. "But I will tell you a defensive coordinator for another team texted me Tuesday morning asking the same question."

The defensive coordinator's question will have many in Chicago thinking about Patrick Mahomes admitting the Bears told him he'd be their selection if they went with a quarterback in the 2017 NFL draft.

The Bears ultimately took Mitch Trubisky No. 2 overall, eight picks ahead of Mahomes.

Williams doesn't appear to be the next Trubisky or Justin Fields so far. The Heisman winner for USC broke a Bears record for the most passing yards (363) in a single game by a rookie in Week 3.

However, as long as Daniels continues to impress and the Bears' offense struggles behind a patchwork offensive line, questions will be asked about whether Chicago missed out on the 2023 Heisman Trophy winner.

you could scream from the mountain top please keep Fields!!! but they couldn't resist . And here we are talking about it was a mistake. No Shit! I think Poles falling in love with his abilities, he leaned on his talent of making the right deal at a budget price. unfortunately the agents he signed played like budget players.

The great worshipful idol has turned out to be quite fallible. Not the next coming of Tom Brady. The Bears are a long-standing joke that keeps on humoring.
