The Indiana Fever took a heartbreaking 87-81 loss to the Connecticut Sun in Game 2 on Sept. 25, which means their postseason journey is officially over.

Unlike the Fever's 93-69 loss in Game 1, this second matchup came down to the wire. Fever guard Caitlin Clark put on a phenomenal performance, putting up 25 points, with nine rebounds, six assists, one steal and one block.

While the AP's Rookie of the Year was the team's best scorer of the night, Fever head coach Christie Sides made a questionable decision with Clark late in the fourth quarter that numerous viewers believe cost Indiana the game.

CBS Sports' David Eikholt posted , "In the clutch with your first-team All WNBA guard not touching the ball on three straight possessions. Unbelievable." One fan replied , "Christie Sides has to be fired. She’s mediocre as a coach and is just not able to rise to these moments and I’m not convinced she ever will be."

Not utilizing the NCAA's all-time scorer with the game and the 2024 WNBA season on line was baffling for numerous fans. One woman posted , "How the hell does Christie Sides not set up that inbound play for Caitlin Clark???"

One user wrote , "There has been plenty to hate about Christie Sides as head coach. She has no idea how to coach, and the fact that Clark brought them back from 9 down in the 4th, and Sides drew up 3 straight plays for Mitchell, who was awful all night long, is just inexplicable."

While Kelsey Mitchell has been a crucial part of the Fever's success this season, she struggled in the final few minutes. She missed a three, chased her own rebound and missed a wide open layup. Mitchell finished the night with 17 points.

More people commenting from their Mom's basement. Enough negativity. Clark got lost on a screen and gave Mabrey an open look. Clark knew she messed up by her reaction. That was not on Sides.
