Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever saw their season come to an end on Wednesday evening after an 87-81 Game 2 loss to the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs.

It was an incredible rookie campaign for the former Iowa Hawkeyes star, breaking the single-season assists record, becoming the first rookie to record a triple-double, and leading Indiana to its first playoff appearance in eight years.

But what are Clark's offseason plans?

Towards the end of Game 2, ESPN commentator Ryan Ruocco revealed he talked to Clark about her plans for the next few months, and she revealed that she will not be playing basketball.

"Meanwhile, we talked to Caitlin Clark earlier today," Rucco said. "She said she almost definitely will not play basketball this offseason. So it is likely that we will not see her play again until April."

This move by Clark is significant because of the new 3x3 Unrivaled league that is having its inaugural season starting January 2025. With other WNBA stars set to join the league, such as Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese and New York Liberty forward Breanna Stewart, many were anticipating the announcement that Clark would join. But it appears that will not happen.

It would have been exciting to see Clark play alongside other WNBA stars, but now fans may have to wait until next May to see her again when the 2025 season starts.

Clark finished her first playoffs averaging 18.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.5 assists in two games. Her scoring and rebounding were slightly lower than her regular season stats, but her playmaking was slightly better. With a long break coming, Clark could see her numbers increase even more after some legitimate rest.

I don't blame her for not playing basketball in the off season, she. needs a break, she got done with college basketball and went right in the WNBA, she has had alot on her shoulders. Rest up Caitlin and we will see you in April starting your 2nd season
