The Cincinnati Bengals are in desperation mode entering their Week 4 contest against the Carolina Panthers. Quarterback Joe Burrow said he plans to make a change this week to help the young guys on offense.

Per the Bengals' website, Burrow said Wednesday that he's always been vocal about teaching technical aspects of the offense to his teammates, but he's never been a "big picture vocal guy" since Cincinnati drafted him with the No. 1 pick in 2020.

Burrow said he's willing to make an uncomfortable change to be more outspoken if that helps the Bengals.

"We've got a lot of young guys that we're counting on that haven't really been here before," Burrow said. "(To) have them hear my voice more might be beneficial. I've always just kind of picked my spots of when to do that. I've never really been that guy I would say. It still won't be a big part of who I am, but there's definitely some spots where (my voice) could be needed."

The Bengals will need Burrow's leadership to shine if they hope to make a turnaround from starting the season 0-3 and make a run for the playoffs.

The Bengals heavily invested in Burrow when they gave him a five-year contract extension worth $275 million. The hefty contract meant the Bengals would depend on young and inexperienced players throughout other parts of the roster due to the constraints of the league's salary cap.

Can Burrow be the leader the Bengals need this season?
