Dave Portnoy has become a big name in the media industry as the owner of Barstool Sports. On top of that, Portnoy is also a die-hard fan of his alma mater, Michigan.

To begin the 2024 college football season, Michigan has dealt with a quarterback rotation following J.J. McCarthy going to the NFL.

Davis Warren began the year as the starter, and then Alex Orji was named the new starter for the Week 4 game.

As such, Portnoy has an offer on the table for Michigan.

"Michigan, I will be your quarterback guy," Portnoy mentioned. "I'll talk to Sherrone, who do you guys want? Who's in there?... I will sign them, a million, $2 million, whatever it is. $3 million."

Portnoy has apparently declared to offer Michigan at most $3 million to bring in a top quarterback in the transfer portal.

"I can get a quarterback," Portnoy continued. "We don't have a quarterback...I'm gonna get up a top 10 quarterback in the portal coming out every year."

Orji's first start came against USC, and while the Wolverines got the win, he went just 7-of-12 for 32 yards with no scores.

Warren also looked mediocre, throwing for 444 yards with two touchdowns and six interceptions in the first three games.

Portnoy ended by saying, "$3 million marketing agreement. I think that's legal."

So, it sure seems that Portnoy is willing to spend at most $3 million to get, what he said, a "top 10 quarterback every year."

Surprisingly, even with the quarterback issues, Michigan is 3-1 to start the year and they face Minnesota and Washington before a Week 7 open date.
