The Indiana Fever were eliminated from playoff contention on Wednesday night, marking the end of Caitlin Clark's remarkable rookie season that has brought new attention to the WNBA and women's sports as a whole.

On " First Take " Thursday morning, WNBA star and ESPN basketball analyst Chiney Ogwumike reflected on Clark's achievements throughout her rookie year and the significant impact she has made since being drafted and made a few shocking comparisons.

"Caitlin Clark came into the WNBA as the most impactful women's basketball player we've seen in a generation," Ogwumike said . "What she has accomplished transcends not just women's basketball, but women's sports as a whole. The only other athletes who have moved the needle like this are Serena Williams and Simone Biles, who just came off the Olympics."

Chiney Ogwumike compared Caitlin Clark's impact to iconic athletes like Serena Williams , Simone Biles, and Katie Ledecky. While Clark hasn't yet won championships like them, she has ample time to achieve that.

Clark was named AP Rookie of the Year, finished fourth in WNBA MVP voting, and led the league in assists. She also guided the Indiana Fever to the postseason for the first time since 2016 and topped all rookies in points, assists, steals, field goals made, three-pointers made, and free throw percentage.
