There are always a select few weeks in the college football season that are circled before the year starts, and Week 5 is certainly one of them.

We get some fun matchups across the board, like Notre Dame vs. Louisville, Oklahoma State vs. Kansas State, and Penn State vs. Illinois. But the best matchup of them all is undoubtedly No. 2 Georgia vs. No. 4 Alabama.

It's a regular-season SEC showdown that we haven't had a chance to see much over the past few years, but one that will have massive ramifications in the College Football Playoff race this year.

Before the game, ESPN college football analyst Greg McElroy made his official pick, and he is taking the underdog.

"I'm taking Alabama in what I expect to be a high-scoring game,” McElroy said on his podcast this week. “I expect both offenses to play well, and I think it’s going to come down to the wire."

According to ESPN Bet, Georgia is favored by 2 points going into the game on the road. Both teams are undefeated and have looked very strong this year, but there are some questions about both schools as well.

Starting with Alabama, this is the Tide's first year under Kalen DeBoer after legendary head coach Nick Saban retired this offseason, so it will be interesting to see if they can show up and win the big games as they did so often under the previous regime.

For Georgia, the Bulldogs struggled to outlast the Kentucky Wildcats in a 13-12 win on Sept. 14, which raised some eyebrows. Are they not as dominant as we expected, or was that just a blip on the radar?

Questions will be answered on Saturday after this 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff. For now, though, McElroy is rolling with the Crimson Tide.
