Alabama and Georgia will renew their cross-state rivalry Saturday night for the teams' first regular-season matchup since 2020.

In the three previous iterations of this titanic clash, an SEC Championship trophy or a National Championship trophy was on the line.

Although no physical trophy will be given out on Saturday night, the weight of this victory will be felt throughout the country .

FOX Sports college football analyst Joel Klatt previewed this game and gave his prediction on The Joel Klatt Show .

“I think Alabama wins," Klatt said. "(I think) Millroe plays well, and I think Alabama wins a classic, a tight ball game, and it's going to be 24-21. Bama wins and covers."

Klatt focused on Alabama's offensive line being at full strength.

“I think that that's going to create even more explosive runs and the ability, and this is important, the ability to sustain drives," Klatt said.  "I think they'll have less penalties as a group up front, and they'll have more base down success running the football for three, four, and five yards, which can keep them on schedule and allow them potentially to sustain a long drive.

"That was one of the questions that I've had with Alabama, and I think that getting that starting offensive line back is going to continue to help them.”

Klatt highlighted Alabama's explosiveness on offense and Georgia's ability to limit big plays, but Klatt claimed that Georgia being able to hit deep plays on Alabama will determine the winner.

“I told you that the key was Georgia being able to create and hit on those explosives when they potentially arrive," Klatt said.  "And yet I have no evidence that they're going to be able to do that. So I'm riding with the Tide.”
