Angel Reese Makes Sheryl Swoopes Announcement Amid WNBA Playoffs

Angel Reese recently capped off her rookie season with the Chicago Sky. As the WNBA star works through rehab from a wrist injury she suffered in early September, it seems Reese has turned her focus to her podcast "Unapologetically Angel."

Reese recently posted a picture with WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes on her podcast set, suggesting that she'll be the next guest.

The 22-year-old originally posted her first episode of the podcast on Sept. 5, which was more of a formal interview between Reese and media personality Maya Reese.

She then conducted a couple of episodes with music artists Polo G and Latto.

While it's not confirmed when the Swoopes episode will be released, there will certainly be strong engagement from fans, since she is the first member of the WNBA community to join Reese on the show.

Swoopes is a well-respected name in the WNBA. She played in the league from 1997 to 2011. The former league star retired from the WNBA as a four-time champion, three-time MVP, six-time All-Star and five-time All-WNBA First Team member.

Reese may not be at the top of the WNBA's pedestal just yet, but the rookie made an incredible impact in her first season in the league.

During her rookie season with the Sky, Reese averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game. She led the WNBA in average rebounds while she was active and was the only rookie who averaged a double-double.

The rookie was named a WNBA All-Star in her first year in the league and continuously improved as the season progressed.
