The Minnesota Twins, needing all the help they can get, have made another roster move ahead of their game Thursday against the Miami Marlins.

Minnesota optioned starting pitcher Simeon Woods Richardson, who lasted just one inning on Wednesday in likely his final game of the season , to Triple-A St. Paul and recalled catcher Jair Camargo from the Saints.

Camargo has had three other stints with the Twins this season but rarely got into a game, going 0-for-6 with a walk and a run scored. The 25-year-old is still looking for his first big-league hit after making his MLB debut in April.

At Triple-A, Camargo played 74 games this season, hitting .212/.290/.403 with 12 homers, 16 doubles, 51 RBI and 25 walks compared to 94 strikeouts, although he dealt with a couple injuries.

He adds another bat and some more flexibility as a third catcher for the Twins.

Woods Richardson, meanwhile, finished his rookie season 5-5, with a 4.17 ERA and 117 strikeouts across 133.2 innings (his most in a season at any level) and 28 games. Despite wearing down over the final month, it was still a successful season for the former second-round pick, who turns 24 on Friday. Remember, he’s still younger than fellow rookies David Festa and Zebby Matthews, who didn’t debut until late in the summer.

Festa (2-6, 4.80 ERA) is scheduled to start the series finale against the Marlins for the Twins on Thursday night. Miami is expected to counter with righty Valente Bellozo (3-4, 3.82 ERA), who is also a rookie. First pitch is set for 6:40 p.m.
