The Indiana Fever saw their season end after their 87-81 Game 2 loss to the Connecticut Sun in the 2024 WNBA playoffs on Wednesday night.

Despite the early exit, it was certainly a successful year for the Fever. Led by its All-Star trio of Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston, Indiana was able to make the postseason for the first time since 2016. They also shattered viewership and sales records.

But now the Fever go into the offseason with some questions, with the main being whether Mitchell will return to the team as her contract has expired.

However, forward NaLyssa Smith may have made a subtle hint at her own departure from Indianapolis following elimination.

On Thursday, according to Clark Report on X, Smith removed the Fever tag from her Instagram bio, leaving only the WNBA tag in it.

If Smith is trying to leave Indiana, it won't be through free agency. The former Baylor Bears star was drafted in 2022 and still has one year remaining on her rookie contract. She is set to make $91,981 in 2025 with the Fever.

But Smith could be a potential trade candidate for Indiana and a valuable one at that. If Indiana cannot find any trade suitors, Smith could be a potential option for the WNBA's newest team, the Golden State Valkyries, in the expansion draft.

During the 2024 regular season, Smith started in all but three games, averaging 10.6 points and 7.1 rebounds. In Game 2 against the Connecticut Sun, Fever coach Christie Sides elected to have Smith come off the bench and put Temi Fagbenle in the starting spot. This move could have been a hint of foreshadowing for the Fever.
