Caitlin Clark Effect Hits New Heights With Absurd Fever-Sun Viewership Announcement

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever's 2024 campaign is officially over, but they didn't go down quietly, as they fought until the final buzzer sounded in their 87-81 loss to the Connecticut Sun on Wednesday night.

Clark put together another strong outing for the Fever (25 PTS, 9 AST, 6 REB, 10/23 FGM), but it ultimately wasn't enough to force a do-or-die Game 3 against the Sun.

All year long, fans have been raving about Clark's massive impact on the WNBA, and it continued right up until her final game of the season. Viewership numbers indicate that the Fever-Sun game had over 2.5 million fans tuning in, which makes it the most watched game of the entire 2024 WNBA campaign.

This is once again a testament to Clark, who helped the Fever draw in massive audiences on a near nightly basis during her first season with the team.

When you consider the fact that this had the potential to be Clark's last game for a few months, and that it was a very close contest, it ultimately isn't all that surprising to see this massive viewership figure.

The WNBA is certainly expanding at an incredible rate, and it wouldn't be much of a shock to see Clark and the Fever put up even bigger numbers when they return to the court next year.
