The realignment rumors have been in full force ever since the Pac-12 Conference added four programs from the Mountain West.

After that report came out, the Mountain West, AAC and others began to panic as they expected a domino effect. However, the AAC was able to reaffirm commitments with Memphis, USF, Tulane and UTSA.

On Wednesday night, it was reported that Air Force and UNLV were sticking with the Mountain West despite rumblings of a Pac-12 move.

All in all, it has been extremely busy on the realignment front as of late. On Thursday, Memphis Athletic Director Ed Scott had a message for the fans and spoke about the offer from the Pac-12 (h/t Jason Munz).

"Where does this go?" Scott said. "If you all haven't seen the latest reports (between the MWC and the Pac-12), this is a fluid situation."

"When we talk about the decision that was made by the University of Memphis to not join the Pac, that was not a binary decision," Scott continued. "That was not a, 'No, we're not ever going anywhere.' That was based on the offer that was presented in front of us... because we don't think less of ourselves.

"Sometimes we get enamored by the new and we want to take a bad deal," Scott mentioned. "That deal was not a good deal for the University of Memphis."

The situation between the MWC and Pac-12 is very fluid at the moment after the Pac-12 hit them with a lawsuit, so a lot can happen in that regard.

However, Scott says the decision not to join the Pac-12 does not rule out a move in the future, but he kept on insisting it was not a good deal for Memphis at this time.

For now, Memphis is staying in the AAC, and Ed Scott hid nothing about the "bad" deal from the Pac-12.
