Giants vs. Cowboys 1st Quarter: Dak Prescott Takes Early Lead

The New York Giants haven't had much success against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in recent years. Early on in Thursday's contest, not much has seemingly changed.

After one-quarter of play, Prescott and the Cowboys lead the Giants 7-3 thanks to a touchdown drive on their second possession of the contest.

New York got the scoring started in their opening drive with an eight-play, 51-yard drive capped by a 52-yard-field goal by Greg Joseph. On the drive, quarterback Daniel Jones connected deep with sixth-overall rookie Malik Nabers on a 39-yard pass. The drive stalled due to a phantom facemask penalty called on Giants tight end Daniel Bellinger even though he was the one who had his facemask pulled.

The Giants' lead wouldn't stay that way for long, though. And some questionable calls led the way for that.

Immediately after New York's early 3-0 lead, Prescott orchestrated responded with a 12-play, 75-yard drive that ended on a 15-yard screen pass to Rico Dowdle for the score.

On the touchdown play, the Cowboys were seemingly called for two penalties but the calls were quickly picked up by officials - confirming Dallas' touchdown.

New York has the ball to start the second quarter down by four.
