Erin Andrews Reacts to Major Announcement by Today Anchor

Veteran broadcast journalist Hoda Kotb shocked the industry on Thursday after she announced her decision to step down as a co-anchor of the long-running NBC program "Today."

Kotb's announcement took the broadcasting world by storm, which included Fox Sports' Erin Andrews, who herself sent a heartfelt message to Kotb after learning of the latter's decision to leave the show after more than five years of being a co-host on the program.

Andrews kept her message short and sweet.

"Love you @hodakotb ❤️❤️" Andrews wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

Kotb, 60, announced on Thursday's show that she had decided to step down as a co-host. However, the renowned journalist also revealed that she intends to remain on the show on a currently undisclosed role.

"I realized that it was time for me to turn the page at 60, and to try something new," Kotb said, via Today.com . "I remembered standing outside looking at these beautiful bunch of people with these gorgeous signs, and I thought, 'This is what the top of the wave feels like for me.' And I thought it can't get better, and I decided that this is the right time for me to kind of move on."

Kotb also cited her desire to spend as much time as she can with her two daughters, who are currently just five and seven years old, as one of the main reasons behind this major career decision.

Andrews might be working for a competing network, but this hasn't stopped the NFL reporter from sharing some love and showing her support for a woman who is widely considered a prominent figure in the industry.
