Bobby Slowik spoke to the media this week about his familiarity with the Jacksonville defense and Tank Dell’s injury.

On how much it will help that he has played the Jaguars defensive coordinator last year

Bobby: I think it helps somewhat. The different players aspect is a really big deal. Same as when he is looking at us of who we have on our team this year compared to last year. I am sure he is approaching it very different, just based on whose where and it is really the same for us. They have a really good defense. I think the core of the scheme is the same but he does a good job of putting his guys in a position to be forces to be reckoned with. D-line-wise, they have a crew that is tough in the run game, tough in the pass game, they can get after you in a four-man rush. In the secondary they have some vets, they have [CB Ronald] Darby, they have [S Andre] Cisco that he uses a little different than he used in Atlanta, [S] Terrell [Edmunds] and with [S Jessie] Bates. We will see what will happen at linebacker, but I think it always is different. Even within a season. I’m sure when we play Jacksonville, again the second time, and there is always moving pieces, different people in, different people out, it will feel like a different game than this week.

On how the possibility of not having WR Tank Dell this week affect the offense

Bobby: You're always approaching every week - guys get dinged all the time. Guys have bruises that they're working through that you always kind of have to take care of and you wind up approaching it as a coordinator and as a coaching staff. As you have plays that you have in mind for certain people and then if that person is not available, you have some other plays you can go to for other people. So, we're always ready to adjust as far as that goes. We're confident in the guys we have that are going to step up. If Tank can't go, it's not really going to make anybody blink. It's just next man up and we keep rolling.
