The New York Knicks lost one of their key contributors from this past season in Isaiah Hartenstein, so the team has to make a decision before the regular season starts.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report , they take a look at one big question for each NBA team heading into training camp. For the Knicks, that question is, "who's playing center?"

"Necessity is the mother of invention, and if the New York Knicks' lack of center depth forces head coach Tom Thibodeau to get more inventive than he usually is, it might be for the best," Grant Hughes writes. "Julius Randle, projected to be ready for the season after missing significant time with a shoulder injury last year ... is the intriguing alternative option at the 5."

The Knicks starting center, Mitchell Robinson, was injured for most of the year this past season, and Hartenstein was able to step up and fill the hole. But the team will have to learn to live without him this season.

Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau has said that Julius Randle will most likely play "10-15 minutes per game" at the center position, and it has been something the team has been considering for a while.

If Randle can effectively step in to the center position while Robinson is still out, he could help the Knicks succeed until they get him back.
