Commanders’ Brian Robinson Jr. on Track for 1,000 Yards?

The Washington Commanders are coming off back-to-back victories that saw their offense clicking at every level scoring on 8 straight possessions in eight quarters of play. With rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels setting new rookie records, the Commanders have shown resilience and versatility. But the team faces a new challenge as they prepare to meet the Arizona Cardinals without a key piece of their offensive arsenal, running back Austin Ekeler, who remains in Virginia under concussion protocol.

The absence of Ekeler puts more focus on Brian Robinson Jr., who has quietly established himself as a reliable presence in the Commanders’ backfield. Robinson has steadily contributed to the team’s success, scoring a touchdown in Week 3’s 38-33 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, despite only gaining 33 rushing yards in the game. His performance earlier in the season, which included a 133-yard outing in Week 2, showcases his potential to lead the rushing attack.

As Washington looks ahead to a Cardinals defense that allows 123.3 rushing yards per game, Robinson's role becomes even more critical. With Ekeler sidelined, the Commanders will rely heavily on Robinson to shoulder the load. The Arizona matchup presents an ideal opportunity for him to break through and provide the team with the ground presence it needs to continue its winning streak.

Robinson is on pace to surpass 1,000 yards for the first time in his career , projecting to finish the season with just over 1,167 yards. His previous career-high was 797 yards during his rookie campaign in 2022, but this season he appears ready to eclipse that total with his consistent contributions.

With the Cardinals' defensive struggles and Robinson’s growing influence, all eyes will be on the third-year running back to carry the Commanders’ rushing attack as they aim for a third consecutive victory.
