FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys defeated their NFC East rival New York Giants 20-15 on Thursday night but they came away from the big win with a limp.

The Cowboys in this game lost their two best edge rushers in DeMarcus Lawrence and All-Pro Micah Parsons ... and while there is some optimism about their eventual availabilty ... we now have the result for the All-Pro Parsons.

There is a 10-day break for Dallas between now and then Week 5 at Pittsburgh ... and that might help Parsons, who hurt his ankle in the fourth quarter. Following the game, Parsons was seen limping around the locker room. He was asked about it in the post-game press conference.

"Right now, I just iced it,” Parsons said. “I know very little. I've got an MRI scheduled for Friday, and I'm going to try to get back next week."

And indeed, NFL Network is reporting that the injury is a high-ankle sprain ... with an MRI about to identify the severity of it.

Lawrence also has an MRI on Friday to see the extent of the foot injuries. Both players had X-rays taken at the stadium, and both were said to be negative. ... but NFL Network is reporting that "Lawrence is expected to miss multiple weeks.''

If Lawrence and Parsons can’t play next week against the Steelers, it’s going to be tough sledding for this defense. For now, though, they’ve stopped a two-game losing streak to pull their record to 2-2 on the year.
