Nick Saban Talks Candidly About His Relationship with Kalen DeBoer and His Success

Iconic Alabama head coach Nick Saban , who transformed the Crimson Tide program into a powerhouse, recently joined " The Pat McAfee Show " to discuss current head coach Kalen DeBoer . During the conversation, he reflected on their relationship and the success DeBoer has achieved in the first four weeks of the college football season.

Saban, a regular on "The Pat McAfee Show," is in Tuscaloosa with the " College GameDay " crew for Saturday’s highly anticipated primetime matchup between the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs and the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide—two SEC powerhouses facing off.

During the interview, Saban was asked about DeBoer’s early season performance and whether there was any awkwardness in their relationship.

"He's done a fabulous job, in my opinion. He’s shown no ego in taking over, and he and I have a really good relationship," Saban said. "I've been really impressed by him. I believe he’s one of the few who could have made this transition as seamlessly as he has for both himself and the players."

Georgia opened as a 2-point favorite according to DraftKings Sportsbook , with the line fluctuating between one and three points leading up to this highly anticipated showdown.

This will be DeBoer's first SEC matchup and his first significant challenge outside of what some considered to be Wisconsin . However, facing Georgia is a different beast altogether, and Tuscaloosa is sure to be electric on Saturday night.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart holds a 1-4 record against Alabama when both teams are ranked in the top five. Interestingly, this season the road team is 4-0 when "College GameDay" is in attendance, and they will be present for this matchup.
