Aaron Judge’s Recent Home Run Stretch Makes History

Aaron Judge has done something that no player since Babe Ruth has accomplished.

Judge has a home run in five straight games after his latest blast in the New York Yankees’ 10-1 win against the Baltimore Orioles. The captain also has a walk in 10 straight games. Babe Ruth is the only other player to have a five-game home run streak and a 10-game walk streak. The Great Bambino accomplished this in June of 1921.

The Bronx Bombers have won three of their last five games during Judge’s homer streak and the team is 7-3 during his walk streak.

Babe Ruth finished that season leading the majors with 59 home runs and 145 walks. The Yankees went on to win the American League pennant that season.

Judge leads the majors in both walks and home runs. His 58 homers are the second most of his career in a single season. Shohei Ohtani has the second-most home runs in the majors with 53.

The captain led MLB with 62 home runs in his American League MVP season in 2022. The outfielder also set the AL rookie record with 52 home runs in 2017.

Judge’s 133 walks are also the most in the league. Juan Soto is second with 126 walks. Kyle Schwarber is the only other player with over 100 walks this season.

Judge has led the AL in walks twice during his career. He had 127 walks in 2017 and 111 walks in 2022.

Judge’s next game comes on Friday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
