Deion Sanders Thinks Colorado Is the Reason for UCF's Massive Recruiting Weekend

Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders has never been shy about speaking his mind, and ahead of Colorado's Week 5 matchup against the UCF Knights, he did just that.

During an interview with CBS Sports Colorado's Romi Bean, Sanders revealed that he wouldn't be surprised if UCF saw a surge in recruits wanting to visit when the Knights hosted Colorado on Saturday.

However, that rise in interest isn't entirely because of what Gus Malzahn is building down there, but according to Sanders, it is because they want to check out Colorado.

"A lot of recruits that really want to see us, they will sign up to go to the game on behalf of an opposing team," Sanders said . "It'll be a tremendous amount of recruits. I guarantee they'll have their biggest recruiting weekend this weekend. ... It's gonna be crazy, I guarantee. Every recruit in Florida is gonna be on that sideline."

This prediction has at least partially come to fruition, as a report by On3 revealed that there will be over 100 recruits in attendance.

Whether or not those recruits are in town to see the Buffs is yet to be determined, but one would have to imagine that Sanders would certainly love to grow his recruiting class. The Buffs' 2025 class currently holds just eight commitments and ranks as the No. 80 class in the country.

Sanders has also put an emphasis on recruiting the state of Florida, as Colorado has offered 75 Florida recruits in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports . That marks 29 more offers than California, which is the second-most recruited state by Sanders' staff.

This is quite an opportunity for Sanders' program to make a statement, as ESPN has the Knights favored by two scores and gives them an 82.1% chance of winning. However, if Colorado pulls off the upset in Orlando, interest in the program could continue to skyrocket.
