Should Browns Sign Former Cowboys Star Lineman?

The Cleveland Browns offensive line struggles are well-documented. Last season, they had three tackles go down with knee injuries that ended their season. Jed Wills, Jack Conklin, and Dawand Jones were supposed to be the strength of the line.

This time around? Conklin hasn’t played at all and Wills played less than three quarters before he was injured again. Jones has seen playing action, but hasn’t been great in his opportunities.

Bleacher Report published a list of current free agents that could help teams around the league, and named the Browns as a team that should go out and sign former Dallas Cowboys guard La’el Collins.

“Collins would be a sensible target for the Cleveland Browns, who have had one of the league's worst offensive lines, largely due to injuries,” Bleacher Report writes. “The Browns reached the playoffs last year, but they were dealt another blow when standout guard Wyatt Teller suffered a knee injury in Week 3 and went on injured reserve.

‘Adding Collins wouldn't suddenly make Cleveland's line good, but it would provide valuable depth at multiple spots.”

Collins is two years removed from a torn ACL and has worked his way back into shape. He spent training camp with the Buffalo Bills but did not make the team. He was once a Dallas star and would be a reclamation project for the Browns, but could provide some beef up front for a struggling Browns team.

Cleveland heads out west to take on the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET.
