Fans of the Virginia Tech Hokies were upset on Friday night when the refs made a controversial call to cost them a win over the Miami Hurricanes, and they aren't feeling much better about it on Saturday morning.

The ACC officially came out with a statement about the much-maligned ruling that was made after the last-second Hail Mary attempt, saying that the referees ultimately made the right call and that the pass was incomplete, giving Miami the victory.

“During the review process of the last play, It was determined that the loose ball was touched by a Miami player while he was out of bounds which makes it an incomplete pass and immediately ends the play," the ACC said in a statement.

While that may have been the right call in the end, what has left many fans frustrated is the fact that on the field, it was called a touchdown. In that case, there has to be indisputable video evidence to overturn the call, of which there was none.

There was a ton of chaos at the scene, as Miami fans celebrated the victory before the call was made, and then had to regroup as the refs announced a touchdown, and took the play under review. Following a lengthy review process, the officials made the call that they were ruling an incomplete pass, game over.

That, plus the ACC's new explanation, as caused a lot of fans to grow upset on social media.

Regardless of fans' feelings on the play, the call, or the explanation, it resulted in Miami improving to 4-0 on the season and in a great spot to make it to the College Football Playoff.

They got another brilliant showing from quarterback Cam Ward in this game, who threw for 394 yards and 4 TDs, while adding 57 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground, keeping him at the forefront of the Heisman Trophy discussion.
