Urban Meyer Names College Football Superstar That's One of the Best Players He's Ever Seen

When Colorado's two-way star Travis Hunter takes the field, it seems as if he is always stunning college football fans with how elite he is at both receiver and corner.

However, fans aren't the only ones who have been in awe over what the former No. 1 overall recruit can do on offense and defense. Former Ohio State and Florida head coach Urban Meyer raved about Hunter on Saturday's edition of Fox's "Big Noon Kickoff."

While Meyer acknowledged that Hunter was "really good" in 2023, he expressed that he has somehow taken his performance to a higher level in 2024. In fact, Meyer went as far as to say that Hunter is one of the best players he's ever seen.

"I watched him last year and he was a really good player," Meyer said . "I watched every snap this year, Charles (Woodson) he’s even picked it up. He's one of the best I've ever seen do it. He's doing something like we saw in the graphic there that no one's ever done in college...I'd say even pro football and high school football."

Meyer also expressed that he thinks Hunter is playing well enough to be a top-five pick at both positions. This is certainly quite the praise from Meyer, who has been around college football in some capacity since 1986.

Heading into Saturday's game against the UCF Knights, Hunter grades among the top 20 players at both receiver and corner, according to PFF . He also has a streak of five straight 100-yard receiving games dating back to last season, which is a program record for Colorado.

If the Buffs have any chance at winning on Saturday, they'll need another monster game from Hunter. ESPN has the Knights favored by 13.5 points and gives them an 82.2% chance of taking down Colorado.
