ESPN's 'College Gameday' is the ultimate college football preview show as they break down all of the top games of the week, and include other fun segments to keep the energy up. One host on the panel in particular has displayed a lot more energy than anyone else. That host is former NFL kicker Pat McAfee.

McAfee first joined GameDay back in 2022, and it was very successful which made his return to the show in 2024 very exciting. Through Week 4, 'College GameDay' has received its highest ratings in the show's history.

That said, there has been a lot of backlash about the way McAfee has acted on the show this year, as he is very loud and brings a ton of energy every week. While he appears to just be excited, some fans think this behavior is "obnoxious".

"Why is Pat McAfee on 'College GameDay'? God, he's obnoxious,' said one fan.

One fan also said, "Pat McAfee isn't good at all is he?"

Another fan added, "Used to watch 'College GameDay every week. Then, Pat McAfee happened. Now it's unwatchable."

However, on the other hand, other fans are in complete disagreement with the backlash, as one even said, "Pat McAfee actually makes the College GameDay show enjoyable again."

One fan agreed, saying, "Pat McAfee was a great addition to 'College GameDay.'

Another fan added that McAfee is "growing on him" which could definitely show signs of improvement.

There was certainly a lot more support for McAfee this week, as there was a ton of backlash after his performance in Week 4. This is a great sign as the more everyone on the show is embraced, the better.

This week's edition of 'College GameDay' was fantastic, with former Alabama head coach Nick Saban making his return to Tuscaloosa. His wife also joined the show as the guest picker, and the two were greatly embraced by the fans ahead of Alabama's highly-anticipated matchup with Georgia.

The future is looking very bright for GameDay, especially if McAfee is starting to come around to those who weren't his biggest fan at first.
