Eyes are glued to Austin on Saturday afternoon as Texas kicks off SEC play for the first time by hosting Mississippi State. Several top football recruits are in attendance for the game, along with top women's basketball recruit Aaliyah Chavez.

Chavez, a point guard from Lubbock, Texas, is ranked as the top recruit in the country per On3 . She plays high school basketball at Monterey, and according to 247 Analyst Brandon Clay, she is a "prolific yet efficient scoring option at the guard position."

Women's basketball coach Vic Schaefer gave Chavez one of her first offers, and the star athlete told Hook 'Em Headlines that she's in touch with the Longhorns "almost every day" and that they "always have high energy."
