It was an up-and-down half for No. 1 Texas against Mississippi State.

Saturday's matchup marks the first SEC game for the Longhorns. After a strong first drive that resulted in a Jaydon Blue rushing touchdown, Texas suffered several mistakes.

A fumble from Blue and a dropped deep ball by wide receiver Johntay Cook kept 14 points off the board for the Longhorns in the first half. Luckily, quarterback Arch Manning orchestrated an impressive drive to end the half.

Manning found wide receiver DeAndre Moore for a 49-yard touchdown with roughly 30 seconds left in the half to put Texas up 14-6.

Manning ended the half with 15 completions for 202 yards and one touchdown. Texas' leading receiver against the Bulldogs is Isaiah Bond with four receptions for 73 yards.

The Longhorns need to get the run game going in the second half. Texas only had 10 total rushing yards in the first half.
