Bidding for Shohei Ohtani's Historic 50-50 Home Run Ball Reaches Absurd Price

Shohei Ohtani has accomplished quite a bit in his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, but easily his biggest achievement is becoming the first player in MLB history to post a 50-home run, 50-stolen base season.

Ohtani hasn't slowed down since reaching that mark, as he currently has 54 home runs and 57 stolen bases with two games left on the Dodgers season.

While pretty much every home run ball Ohtani hits is valuable now, the one he hit to enter the 50-50 club that only he is a member of is the most valuable of the bunch. In fact, it's gotten to the point where the bidding for the ball has reached an astounding $1.2 million.

There have already been tons of bids placed on the baseball, and with the window not shutting for another 18 days, it seems like this price will soar to an even bigger number by the time the auction ends.

Considering how special of a player Ohtani is, and how this feat had literally never been accomplished in the MLB's storied history, it isn't necessarily a massive surprise to see this incredible figure.

There's a chance Ohtani could create the 55-55 club by the time the Dodgers season ends, and if that happens, chances are that home run ball will also fetch an extremely high price.
