Julius Randle's Wife Turns Heads With First Post After Blockbuster Trade

The writings were on the wall when the New York Knicks did not extend three-time NBA All-Star forward Julius Randle this offseason.

Soon enough, the Knicks shipped Randle out of town in a blockbuster trade to acquire four-time NBA All-Star Karl-Anthony Towns from the Minnesota Timberwolves late Friday night, per multiple reports.

The Athletic first reported the trade.

The Timberwolves will also receive sharpshooter Donte DiVincenzo, Keita Bates-Diop and Detroit’s top-13 protected 2025 first-round pick, per The New York Times .

After the stunning end of Randle's era in New York, Randle's wife Kendra made heads turn when she posted a photo of the two-time All-NBA forward in a Timberwolves uniform on X on Saturday.

Knicks fans quickly paid tribute to the outgoing forward on Kendra Randle's post.

"Best of luck in Minny family Randle. Thanks for all you put on for the city. You'll be missed," one Knicks fan said .

Angel investor and "All-In" podcast host Jason Calanis wrote : "Thanks for the memories #knickforlife ."

"Thanks for everything! Hate it had to end this way," another Knicks fan commented . "Will always root for you and Jules on and off the court. Tremendous individuals and parental role models. Sending y’all nothing but love and well wishes. Hopefully see you around still."

There was an outpour of tributes and thank you messages in the comments thread of Kendra Randle's post.

Julius Randle came to New York when nobody wanted to sign with the Knicks in 2019. He was viewed as the consolation prize after Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving spurned the Knicks and instead went to the Brooklyn Nets, their rivals across the borough.

But in a surprising turn, Randle transformed into an All-Star and All-NBA player under Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau. Randle became the face of the Knicks' resurgence, which paved the way for the free-agent signing of Jalen Brunson.

Unfortunately for Randle, Brunson's rise as an MVP candidate last season made the Knicks pivot to building around the All-Star point guard.

The Knicks view Towns, a 38.9% 3-point shooter, a better fit as floor-spacing big man over Randle's bully-ball.
