After blowing a 28-0 lead at home against No. 2 ranked Georgia, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer watched as two players who were in high school just months ago saved his team from losing its most monumental game of the season.

Just a play after Georgia captured a 34-33 lead over the Crimson Tide, quarterback Jalen Milroe slung it deep to freshmen wide receiver Ryan Williams .

After snatching it out of the air, Williams evaded a pair of tacklers and crossed the goal line to send Bryant-Denny Stadium into a frenzy.

    But Georgia wasn't dead yet.

The Bulldogs were determined to escape Tuscaloosa with a victory.

Already with two interceptions, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck once again sailed the ball into dangerous air space.

Another freshman, this time cornerback Zabien Brown , came away with the game-winning play.

"It says a lot," DeBoer said about the two freshmen showing resolve when it was needed. "Says mentally, that they're well ahead of their time, and they've played enough snaps now, you know, to where there's a belief that not only that they have in themselves, but we all do, and we see it in practice.

And their playmakers, they battle, they grind, you know, they were tired. Played a lot of snaps, each of them, you know, a lot of running, but they're true as far as what we ask, and grinding four quarters, even till the very end. And so, you know, they earned that stripe down the middle of their helmet today, that's for sure."
