The SEC has a history of solid quarterback play. Past stars like Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, Tim Tebow, Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa are some who have come through the SEC. More recently, Jayden Daniels won the Heisman for the LSU Tigers last season.

Greg McElroy broke down the best games from Week 5 on the latest edition of "Always College Football." The game between Alabama and the Georgia Bulldogs did not disappoint.

The top-four matchup ended in a 41-34 Alabama win with two lead changes in the game's final three minutes. Carson Beck threw a 67-yard touchdown pass to Dillon Bell, but Alabama quickly answered with a 75-yard jaw-dropping Ryan Williams touchdown.

McElroy highlighted Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe's play from Week 5. Milroe put on a master class, finishing with 374 passing yards, 117 rushing yards and four total touchdowns. McElroy believed Milroe was "the best he's ever been by a mile" against Georgia.

"Jalen Milroe, who was outrageously good," McElroy said. "Probably the best he's ever been by a mile. Running it, throwing it, athleticism, tight roping the sideline, being able to make guys miss, and getting the ball out quickly. His anticipation when throwing the football is elevated so significantly and that doesn't show up on television."

Milroe went through a head coaching change this offseason and is producing solid numbers under Kalen DeBoer. Through four games, Milroe has 964 passing yards, 10 touchdowns and one interception, complemented by 264 rushing yards and eight touchdowns on the ground.

After his Week 5 effort, Milroe now has +210 Heisman Trophy odds, per FanDuel . The Crimson Tide's last Heisman winner was former quarterback Bryce Young in 2021.

Alabama will be on the road in Week 6 against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Kickoff is set for Oct. 5 at 4:15 p.m. ET on SEC Network.
