Disaster Strikes: Chiefs Suffer Two Turnovers in First Eight Minutes, Trail Chargers 10-0

The Kansas City Chiefs are trailing the Los Angeles Chargers 10-0, and their start to Sunday evening's clash with their AFC West rival couldn't have been much worse.

After receiving the game's opening kickoff, the Chiefs' chance at striking first lasted just four plays before a first-down run for Carson Steele saw him lose the football. The rookie undrafted running back who has been forced to step into a bigger role following the injury to Isiah Pachecho has fumbled twice in his career.

Taking over at their own 30-yard-line, the Chargers offense then went 70 yards in 10 plays before Justin Herbert found his rookie receiver Ladd McConkey for a seven-yard touchdown strike.

Then things got a little worse. The Chiefs' next drive lasted just one play, as Patrick Mahomes's pass intended for star tight end Travis Kelce was intercepted by Kristian Fulton. This made it two turnovers within the game's first eight minutes, which the Chargers turned into an early 10-point lead.

However, to make matters even worse, Rashee Rice was shaken up on the interception play and carted off the sideline to the locker room with a very apparent injury. No official update on Rice's potential injury has been given yet. However, he was shown holding a towel over his head while being carted off.
