Bucs '1-2 Punch' Helps Offense Power Past Eagles

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers bounced back from their shock loss to the Denver Broncos last week with a powerful 33-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at Raymond James Stadium.

It was a superb performance from Todd Bowles' team. The offense started white hot, scoring touchdowns on their first two drives and quickly fining the endzone again on their fourth drive to start the second quarter to go up 21-0.

Baker Mayfield was in great form and finished his day going 30 for 47, 347 yards, and two touchdowns, but it was also the run game that helped power the Buccaneers to the win.

Rachaad White and Bucky Irving both had 10 carries for 49 yards, while Ivring scored his first NFL touchdown, a one-yard run. For head coach Todd Bowles, it was important to get both Rachaad White and Bucky Irving involved.

"We got a one-two punch even Sean [Tucker] got some reps today," Bowles said . "But with Rachaad [White] and Bucky [Irving], it's important that we get both of them reps and have both of them out there.”

The Buccaneers raced out to a big lead early in the second quarter and never looked back in what was a dominating display on both sides of the ball .

Tampa Bay had 445 total yards, 13 more first downs, 18 more plays, and the ball for almost 13 more minutes than the Eagles. At one point in the game, the Buccaneers had 255 total yards to the Eagles' zero. That equates to a brutal beatdown.

But perhaps one of the best things to come out of the win was the run game getting rolling. While the stat sheet reads only 111 yards, offensive coordinator Liam Coen will be happy that both White and Irving are providing something substantial.

The Buccaneers needed a response after last week, and they taught the Eagles a brutal lesson tp move to 3-1 on the season.
