And for Jayden Daniels' next amazing trick: Something no one never envisioned after four weeks of this NFL Season.

    First. Place. Washington. Commanders.

After another dominant, near-flawless performance, Daniels led the Commanders to a 42-14 victory over the Arizona Cardinals Sunday at State Farm Stadium. In winning their third consecutive game, they vaulted to the top of the NFC East standings at 3-1, ahead of the 2-2 Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles and 1-3 New York Giants.

The Commanders haven't the division championship since 2020 last won a playoff game in 2005. But with Daniels at the controls, Commanders fans are beginning to dare to dream.

Washington spotted the Cardinals a quick 7-0 lead, then reeled off 27 unanswered points to win their second consecutive road game.

The NFC's Offensive Player of the Week completed his first nine passes to fuel two early scoring drives, capped by runs of six yards by Brian Robinson Jr. and 27 by Jeremy McNichols. Washington, which led 17-7 at the half, took control early in the third when Daniels scored untouched on a 9-yard, designed run.

He at times, again, made the game looked breathtakingly easy. In addition to running for his fourth touchdown of the season, Daniels completed 25 of his first 28 passes on the heels of his breakout performance against the Cincinnati Bengals last Monday Night in which he completed 21 of 23.

In the Commanders' victory over the New York Giants that started the win streak he was 23 of 29, meaning over a stretch of almost three full games he went 69 of 80 (86 percent).

One of his incompletions against Arizona was a blatant drop by Terry McLaurin.

Daniels' 10-yard touchdown pass to McLaurin and following 2-point conversion pass to Zach Ertz turned this one into a 35-14 laugher with 8:30 remaining.

The Commanders had their scoring streak snapped. But not their momentum.

Daniels' first career interception ended a second-quarter drive, halting their impressive consecutive possessions scoring streak at 16. Washington also punted for the first time in three games - but just once - as it scored on seven of the first nine possessions.

The Commanders have punted one time on their last 23 possessions. They rushed for four touchdowns -McNichols 2, Robinson and Daniels 1 each - in a game for the first time since 2016.
