The Chicago Bulls had sprung a bit of a surprise when they selected Dalen Terry with the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. He was projected to go later, in the 20s.

That suggested that the Bulls were convinced about Terry's talents and upside. And there was a lot to like for sure.

Terry seemed to fit the Bulls' style. He was known for his work ethic and had a nearly 7-foot-1 wingspan.

Two years on and we have not seen much from, or of, Terry though. He averaged 5.6 minutes per game in his rookie season and did not start a game.

Things improved a bit in the 23-24 campaign. He played 59 times in the regular season for the Bulls while averaging 11.5 minutes, 3.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game.

Not an impressive run so far by any stretch of the imagination. But according to Darnell Mayberry , the Bulls have exercised the fourth-year option for Terry.

According to Hoops Rumors , it means that Terry will earn a guaranteed $5,399,118 in ’25/26, which is the fourth season of his rookie contract.

The Bulls are clearly going to prioritize their young talents going forward. They have shown their hand by parting ways with Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan over the summer.

Rumors have linked Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic with trade moves away from Chicago as well, although there is not believed to be a ton of interest in the former All-Stars right now.

It is possible that the Bulls could try to increase the duo's trade value at the start of the 24/25 season in hopes of finding them new teams before completely moving their focus towards the future.

So, let's see if someone like Terry gets more playing time next season as the Bulls seek to know what exactly he has to offer.
