Caitlin Clark's Childhood Three-Point Story Says It All

Caitlin Clark has long electrified the basketball world with her elite three-point shooting ability.

Her logo three pointers became a staple during her record-breaking collegiate career with the Iowa Hawkeyes. Now, she's translated that ability to the professional level as an All-Star guard for the WNBA's Indiana Fever.

Clark's desire to pull up from deep started at a young age. During a recent interview with 60 Minutes , the WNBA's No. 1 overall pick shared a telling story about her childhood in West Des Moines.

After attending her first WNBA game, Clark "begged" her father, Brent Clark, to tear up the grass in their yard and add a full three-point line to their driveway hoop.

"I'm like begging my dad to tear up some grass and pour more concrete so I could have an entire three-point line in my driveway," Clark said. "... And he did."

Clark set the all-time WNBA rookie and Fever franchise records for three-pointers in a single season — connecting on 122 of her 355 attempts from deep. She also became the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 100 career three pointers (34 games).

Clark and the Fever were swept 2-0 in their first-round playoff series against the Connecticut Sun.
