Each college football season sees teams exceeding or falling short of preseason projections. That's one thing that makes the sport great and keeps fans on the edges of their seats every week.

One of the teams that seems to be struggling this season is the Florida State Seminoles. Despite starting the season ranked No. 10 and coming off their best since 2014, the Seminoles have started the year with a 1-4 record. ESPN's Paul Finebaum expressed on "The Matt Barrie Show" that he has no words to describe how poorly Florida State has been performing this season.

"There are no words for them," Finebaum said. "We heard SMU, you've seen them, would be an interesting factor, and they are. Florida State is just; we'll check back with you next year."

Finebaum mentioned that he wouldn't spend a lot of time "beating a dead horse" since he had already criticized Florida State in the past. However, the Seminoles have performed poorly this season, particularly on offense.

Florida State ranks No. 125 in total offense, No. 86 in passing, No. 130 in rushing and No. 126 in scoring offense. The defense hasn't been much better, ranking No. 92 in total defense, No. 74 in passing defense, No. 95 in rushing defense and No. 76 in scoring defense.

After suffering a 42-16 loss to the SMU Mustangs, the Seminoles face a tough challenge as they take on the Clemson Tigers this weekend.
