ESPN's Stephen A. Smith was more than impressed with one college football play from Week 5.

The weekend brought college football fans some great games and some great finishes.

It all began Friday with a controversial Hail Mary from the Virginia Tech Hokies, who were looking to stun the seventh-ranked Miami Hurricanes.

While Hokies wide receiver Da'Quan Felton came down with the football on the game's final play, the officials overruled the original touchdown call on the field.

It was determined that one Hurricanes player touched the loose ball while he was out of bounds .

On Monday's edition of ESPN's " First Take ," Smith discussed an even bigger moment from another game.

In a matchup where the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide led the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs, 30-7, at halftime, Georgia fought all the way back to take a 34-33 lead with just 2:42 remaining in the game.

On the ensuing offensive play for Alabama, quarterback Jalen Milroe threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to 17-year-old freshman wide receiver Ryan Williams.

Williams made a leaping catch, spun past two Georgia defenders, and broke free on his way to the end zone.

Given the magnitude of the matchup and the moment itself, Smith declared it "one of the greatest moments in sports history."

“It was just an incredible moment," Smith said . "It was one of the greatest moments we’ve seen in sports history. To see Georgia come back from a 30-7 halftime deficit, 28 to nothing to begin the game. To come back, take the lead, and on the very next play, this guy Jalen Milroe, who was spectacular, connects with a 17-year-old straight out of high school.”

Smith then spoke in more detail about Williams' play.

“Comes out there and makes that catch with that spin move the very next play after losing the lead," he added. "It was something spectacular to behold. I can’t say enough about the game. It lived up to its billing, it was special. It really, really, was Shannon. That kid Ryan Williams is going to be special.”

Williams reclassified from the 2025 high school class to 2024. Despite being a year younger than his graduating peers, 247Sports ranked him as a five-star recruit and the No. 8 prospect in the nation.

In just four games this season, Williams has already accumulated 16 receptions for 462 yards and five touchdowns.
