Tyrese Halliburton was recently interviewed at Indiana Pacers' media day, as preparation for the 2024-25 NBA season transpires. During his press conference with the media, Halliburton was asked about WNBA phenom Caitlin Clark.

The Indiana Fever rookie took the league by storm in 2024, posting 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game, while being named a WNBA All-Star at 22 years old.

With the rise of the Fever and hype around Clark, Haliburton was seen attending a few Indiana games court side.

He mentioned during the NBA press conference on Monday that he shares a strong relationship with Clark and her boyfriend Connor McCaffery.

Halliburton emphasized that they don't just share a bond in between the lines of the court, as they have a "cool friendship" that lives past basketball.

"I grew pretty close with Connor McCaffery," Haliburton said. "I've grown to be pretty close with Caitlin and him. Me, her, him and my girlfriend Jade all have a group chat that we talk pretty often. It's been cool to grow a friendship with her... We're friends. We have a pretty cool friendship alongside Connor."

Haliburton and Clark have taken over the basketball scene in Indiana.

Last season in 2023-24, Haliburton took the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals, ultimately falling to the eventual NBA champion, Boston Celtics. The NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist averaged 18.7 points, 8.2 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game.

Clark, who had similar stats during the 2024 WNBA season, led the Fever back to the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016.

Indiana ended the year with a 20-20 record, garnering their first 20-win season since 2015, riding the success of the rookie star.

As Haliburton explained, both players are looking to improve and take the next step on the basketball court, since they're young in their professional careers, and a relationship between the two could certainly help that process.
