College football has been a whirlwind of emotions during the first five weeks of the season. Following an epic showdown between the Michigan Wolverines and the USC Trojans during Week 4, which garnered impressive viewership numbers, CBS made a significant announcement regarding its primetime 3:30 PM matchup scheduled for Week 6.

This season, with the shifts brought on by conference realignment, the way fans watch college football has evolved significantly. CBS, traditionally known for its SEC broadcasts, faced a turning point when it chose not to renew its deal with the SEC, which ended last year.

As the SEC signed a new agreement with ABC , CBS opted to pivot towards showcasing Big Ten football. This move sets the stage for yet another top-15 matchup on Saturday afternoon, which CBS officially announced on Monday.

"We're heading back to the City of Angels for a B1G TIME Top-15 Showdown." CBS posted.

The CBS broadcast team is heading back to Southern California for the second time in two weeks, this time for a significant matchup between No. 7 Penn State and No. 11 USC.

Both teams come into this game riding high after impressive victories. USC took down Wisconsin , while Penn State narrowly defeated the No. 19 Illinois Fighting Illini .

As the Nittany Lions aim to stay undefeated, the Trojans will be looking to avoid a second loss this season and maintain their position in the College Football Playoff race.
