Christian McCaffrey has yet to play this 2024 due to a pair of injuries he has been dealing with even before the season started. Making matters worse, the latest update on his status isn't promising.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, there is still no timetable for McCaffrey's return. The superstar running back has been dealing with a calf injury and Achilles tendinitis, but apparently the tendinitis issue he has in his right leg is also now in his left leg.

It's certainly quite a concerning development, so much so that there have even been calls for the 49ers to be investigated in relation to reporting McCaffrey's injury.

Amid the issue, though, fans couldn't help but believe that the so-called "Madden Curse" might have something to do with the health problem of the 49ers star.

The Madden Curse is an infamous superstition in which the player featured on the cover of the popular NFL video game is expected to experience some troubles and struggles in his career during the same year of the game's release.

McCaffrey is the cover athlete of "Madden NFL 25."

"Madden Curse is to blame," a commenter said. Another one exclaimed, "Take him off the cover of Madden now!!!"

"Madden curse. Prayers on his recovery," a supporter chimed in. A fourth fan shared, "Madden Curse is real goddamn."

A social media user posted, "The Madden Curse is back."

"Madden curse legacy season," a poster added.

It's unknown when exactly Christian McCaffrey will be back, but until he does, there will surely be a lot of fans who'll blame the Madden Curse for his troubles.
