The Thunder has been a superb team for players in terms of culture. Carmelo Anthony might have had a rough ending to his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2018, but he still knows the franchise deserves credit. He is glad that the team continues to empower the players, as he felt during his time with the organization.

With the current OKC group, the team is set to be an elite contender for years to come. Melo is glad that the vision is going well for the Thunder because he appreciates how the front office runs the team.

“Yes. Yes. That is the best ran organization when it comes to understanding the needs of players, and understanding how to communicate with players and hold players accountable,” Anthony said on his 7 PM in Brooklyn podcast.

Anthony appreciates what GM Presti is doing for OKC

OKC Thunder general manager Sam Presti has been with the team in his role since the final year of the Seattle SuperSonics. He was also a major figure in the 2007 NBA Draft that set the foundation for this team, as he acquired Jeff Green after a trade with the Boston Celtics and selected the prized pick, Kevin Durant.

Since that year, Presti has been superb as the Thunder’s GM. He has pulled off some massive trades, like the one for Paul George and sending PG to the Los Angeles Clippers for a package centered on Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Sam is superb with team transactions and caring for the players. “Sam is sneaky cool. He has no ill intentions with any of this. He really cares about what is best for the player, and he really cares what the f**k is going on,” Melo continued.

OKC will continue to have a bright future

The Thunder were the best Western Conference team in the 2023/24 season, a massive ascent from being a non-postseason franchise. OKC has a bright future, with players like SGA, Chet Holmgren, and Jalen Williams leading the way, along with head coach Mark Daigneault and GM Presti.

With a good team built year-on-year, the Thunder will be a fantastic team to keep watching. They have all the tools to keep succeeding, and Presti will keep building the optimal roster that could compete at the highest level, as Anthony said about the franchise.
