Jhonattan Vegas: PGA Tour Winner Builds His Perfect Golfer

Jhonattan Vegas is Venezuela’s most successful golfer with four PGA Tour titles to his credit. He’s proud of his Latin American heritage and his role representing his community, which he discussed in the third episode of “Failing Fore-ward ,” presented by 5 Hour Energy.

Like any golfer, Vegas can be particular. He shared some important do’s and don’ts with Athlon Sports’ Loren Torres in their latest conversation. Dressing properly, which means having your shirt tucked in and sporting proper shoes, is important, as is proper etiquette, like avoiding making too much noise on the course.

Torres challenged Vegas to build his perfect golfer using different players’ skills, and he called his own number more than once. Vegas said he’d take his own driving and putting acumen, but he also lauded Tiger Woods’ iron play and Jordan Spieth’s short game.

Vegas discussed his journey back from elbow and shoulder injuries to winning the 3M Open earlier this year.

“That just gives you so much confidence moving forward,” Vegas said of his victory. “All of those moments when you were somewhat doubting yourself and then proving yourself with a win, probably the biggest win I had in terms of everything I had to overcome to achieve it.”
