On Tuesday, the Cincinnati Bengals waived a player they drafted in 2023. The 1-3 Bengals have decided to make a permanent switch at a key position entering Week 5.

Punter Brad Robbins suffered a quad injury during training camp and started the season on injured reserve. The Bengals activated Robbins off injured reserve on Monday.

According to ESPN's Ben Baby, Cincinnati waived Robbins on Tuesday. The Bengals have been impressed with how Ryan Rehkow has performed to start the season.

"Bengals have officially waived punter Brad Robbins," Baby posted on X. "Former Michigan punter was a sixth-round pick in 2023 but lost out to Ryan Rehkow, an undrafted rookie who has performed (exceptionally) well in recent weeks."

The Bengals selected Robbins with the No. 217 pick in the 2023 draft. He punted 76 times for the Bengals in 2023, averaging 44.3 yards per punt. He placed 20 punts inside the 20-yard line.

The Kansas City Chiefs initially signed Rehkow as a free agent out of BYU. The Chiefs needed a punter after losing All-Pro punter Tommy Townsend to the Houston Texans in free agency. Kansas City released Rehkow after OTAs as Matt Araiza won the job.
