Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams missed last week's game, and it appears as though he may have played his last game in the silver and black uniform. According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, Adams has informed the team that he "preferred to be traded."

Rapoport says, "nothing imminent," but the writing has been on the wall in recent weeks. On Monday, head coach Antonio Pierce liked an Instagram post suggesting that Adams may have played his last down with the Raiders, igniting speculation.

On Tuesday, Adams appeared on the Up and Adams Show and said, "There's been no communication with anybody from the team."

Adams has 18 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown through three games this season. While he's 32 years old now, the three-time All-Pro wideout and six-time Pro Bowler still has plenty left to offer at this point in his career.

In a subsequent tweet, Rapoport said the Raiders are still "trying to win games and there are plenty of scenarios where Davante Adams stays in Las Vegas." Still, he'll have a strong market, and Mike Garofolo reported that this "lays the groundwork for an eventual split."

There will presumably be several potential suitors for Adams among teams looking to compete for the playoffs. According to odds from BetUS Sportsbook, the Jets are the likeliest landing spot at -200 odds. A potential reunion with Aaron Rodgers would make plenty of sense for all parties.

The Chiefs are the next-likeliest team at +400, and they're certainly wide receiver needy, but trading Adams in-division would be a tougher sell for the Raiders' front office.

We'll keep you updated with more details on this developing story as Adams is searching for a new home in the NFL after requesting a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders.

I think it's a smart move. Remember his contact, if he were to remain with Raiders Doubles. yes, he still got a year or 2 more before he should consider retirement. he hasn't been the receiver he was in Green Bay, I personally think Luke Getskys' offensive style doesn't work within his potential. and so many of the other WRs & TEs are improving, I feel they use him to take the extra coverage to open up the field more. being a Raiders fan for as long as I have been, I've seen great players come to the team with high expectations, and of course, not meet those expectations. So Davante, thank you for your hard work and dedication. Best of luck with your new team, but do us a tiny little favor...go play outside of the AFC WEST!!! Don't sign with KC or Chargers or Denver...seeing we beat the Ravens and we are not making the playoffs...join Lamar & King Henry.
