As Kansas State prepares to face the Colorado Buffaloes on October 12, head coach Chris Klieman has high praise for Colorado’s offensive talent, especially quarterback Shedeur Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter.

“I think Shedeur Sanders is one of the best quarterbacks in the country without a doubt,” Klieman said. Sanders has been nothing short of spectacular this season, throwing for over 1,600 yards and 14 touchdowns while leading Colorado to a 4-1 record. Klieman’s respect for Sanders’ poise and precision sets the tone for a game where defense will need to rise to the challenge.

Klieman also marveled at Travis Hunter, calling him “amazing” for his ability to dominate on both sides of the ball. “Everybody talks about Hunter…he might be the top pick in the draft.” Hunter’s versatility has been a major asset for Colorado, playing nearly every snap on both offense and defense. With 561 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns on offense to go along with two interceptions and a game-winning forced fumble on defense, he’s a game-changer Kansas State must account for.

Beyond Hunter, Klieman pointed out the depth of Colorado’s receiving corps, which includes Will Sheppard, LaJohntay Wester, and Jimmy Horn Jr. “They have so many receivers that can beat you,” he noted, stressing the need for Kansas State’s defense to craft a strong game plan to contain Colorado’s high-powered offense.

This highly anticipated matchup will test both teams, but Klieman knows the task at hand—neutralizing Colorado’s explosive offense will be key to success.
