Deion Sanders' Four-Word Message to Travis Hunter Before Diving Interception Revealed

The Big 12 and the rest of the college football world were put on alert this past Saturday after the Colorado Buffaloes demolished the UCF Knights.

The Buffs went to Orlando as 14.5-point underdogs and left with a 27-point win in front of over 100 recruits on visits to UCF. On top of leaving with the win, Colorado's two-way star, Travis Hunter, may have also left Orlando with a Heisman moment.

With the Knights looking to cut into the 20-point lead during the third quarter, KJ Jefferson evaded a pass rush and lobbed a pass to an open tight end. Unfortunately for Jefferson, Hunter had baited him into making the throw and made a diving interception to kill the drive.

The play was already impressive, but it went insanely viral thanks to Hunter striking the Heisman Trophy pose at the end. However, the moments leading up to the play make it that much better.

As revealed in a Well Off Media video posted to social media, Deion Sanders had a simple message to Hunter before the big play. Sanders warned Hunter that the offense would try to test him, and clearly just wanted the Paul Hornung Award winner to be ready.

"Lock in and focus," Sanders told Hunter on the sidelines.

A message that was clearly received by Hunter, who helped ice the game as Colorado went on to win 41-21.

In terms of Hunter's Heisman pose at the end, this play appeared to have greatly helped his chances. According to the oddsmakers at FanDuel , Hunter (+350) has the second-best odds of winning the award, trailing only Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe (+220).

Colorado's two-way star finished the game with a team-high nine catches for 89 yards and a touchdown on offense. Defensively, he recorded two tackles and a pass deflection to go along with his interception.

Hunter and the Buffs have a BYE this week before they welcome No. 20 Kansas State to town on Oct. 12 for what may be the most important game on their schedule.
