Former Seattle Storm star Gabby Williams recently made headlines after she made a revelation about Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever guard's WNBA salary.

This came in the wake of Williams calling out league commissioner Cathy Engelbert for the latter's claim that WNBA players earn $700,000 a year. Williams refuted the commissioner's statement while also stating that in terms of their WNBA salaries exclusively, not even Clark pockets $700,000 per season.

Williams made her revelation after deciding to leave the league to join Turkish outfit Fenerbahçe S.K. The 5-foot-11 forward's debut for her new team, however, was mired by controversy after the game was stopped early in the first quarter due to a safety threat.

This was after fans started throwing firecrackers on the court, which forced the game officials to stop the game.

It was a bizarre turn of events, which saw the game take on a significant delay. Thankfully, the officials were able to sort the issue out and the contest was subsequently resumed.

This is not the first time Williams has decided to play abroad. In fact, Fenerbahçe is already her fifth European team since she turned pro in 2018. The former WNBA No. 4 overall pick has had stints with Dike Basketball Napoli (Italy), Spar Girona (Spain), Sopron Basket (Hungary) and ASVEL Féminin (France).

Williams regularly returns to America to play in the WNBA once her European campaigns come to an end. Last season, the former UConn superstar played 12 games for the Storm after re-signing with the squad toward the latter part of the year.

At this point, however, it remains to be seen if Williams will return to the WNBA in 2025.
