The Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team will enter the 2024-25 college basketball season without Caitlin Clark for the first time since 2019.

Following a historic career with the Hawkeyes, the Indiana Fever selected Clark as the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA draft in April.

As she turned the page on her career, the Hawkeyes were forced to do the same.

Before the NCAA season tips off and Iowa heads into regular-season play, Hawkeyes star Hannah Stuelke spoke on the absence of Clark during Big Ten media day.

While Stuelke mentioned that the Hawkeyes will need to fill Clark's production, she explained that Iowa is prepared to play a different style of offense and can still score at an elite level.

Stuelke also said that the Hawkeyes have another amazing player rostered in Villanova transfer, Lucy Olsen, who is set to bring "just as much" as Clark.

"It's obviously going to change," Stuelke said. "Caitlin's a crazy scorer. Kate [Martin] brought a lot too. I think Lucy brings just as much and she's an amazing basketball player. I think that we're gonna score in a different way maybe, but I think we're going to score just as much. So yeah, different but the same."

Olsen previously played three seasons with the Wildcats. She's started in every game during her collegiate career and was then listed as a four-star transfer, per 247Sports.

During her last season at Villanova, 2023-24, Olsen recorded 23.3 points per game, which is good for No. 3 in the nation. She also added 4.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

The Hawkeyes will begin their season versus Northern Illinois on Nov. 6.

They'll be missing their star guard in Cark, who averaged 31.6 points, 8.9 assists and 7.4 rebounds per game. Clark led the Hawkeys to back-to-back Final Four appearances, so the pressure lies on players like Olsen and Stuelke.
